April 6, 2020
To our season membership, educators and students, and fans across Northeast Louisiana:
To keep our musicians and community safe and acting to help prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus, the Monroe Symphony Orchestra has cancelled its remaining concerts through May 6.
This includes the following events:
“Sound of Broadway” concert (originally March 14th, had been postponed)
“Sound of Enchantment” concert (originally April 25th)
Sound Safari educational concert (originally May 6th)
Although it saddens us to cancel these events, we are proud to do our part to ensure we protect the health and safety of our community.
For the past forty-nine years, you have supported the MSO and we are grateful for your support this season! Your patronage as members, contributors, advertisers, corporate and individual sponsors, and ticket purchasers are the most significant source of income for the MSO. It is how we pay our staff, fund the hard work of our volunteers and pay our musicians.
While we stay put to help flatten the COVID-19 contagion curve, we continue to work to provide the highest quality orchestral music for the enjoyment and education of the residents of Northeast Louisiana. There is something YOU can do to help us remain fiscally healthy – and come back stronger than ever – in our 50h Anniversary Season this fall.
If you can do so without hardship: please consider what you have contributed as a tax-deductible contribution for the 2020 tax season.
We are planning a very special “thank- you” in Season 50 for those who do!
If you prefer (or need) a refund: we will gladly return your contribution.
