“The Sound of New Worlds”

October 26, 2019 – 7:00pm       Church of the Redeemer, West Monroe

The MSO opens its 49th concert season with an exploration of Sounds from New Worlds! Journey with the MSO on this interplanetary adventure as they perform favorites from Star Wars, Star Trek, E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial, 2001: A Space Odyssey, and so many more! Children under 10 receive FREE admission, when dressed in a non-scary costume (must be accompanied by paid adult)! First 50 children in costume will receive a treat bag!

 

“The Sound of the Holidays”

December 14, 2019 – 7:00pm       North Monroe Baptist Church, Monroe

Join the MSO as we celebrate the holidays in orchestral style! Take a moment to relax with your family and friends and hear great seasonal favorites, such as “Sleigh Ride,” “Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!,””Greensleeves,” “Hallelujah Chorus” from Handel’s Messiah, and many more! Featuring special guests, the Monroe Symphony Chorus and Monroe Symphony Youth Orchestra, this night will “go down in history” as an event to get you ready for the holidays! We’ll have warm cider and cookies to put a bow on this special holiday evening. Be sure to buy extra tickets to fill others’ hearts with joy!

 

“The Sound of Broadway”

March 14, 2020 – 7:00pm        Monroe Civic Center Arena

The MSO presents a night of memorable music from the world’s greatest stage! Be sure to reserve a table for this annual gala, where “you bring the party and we’ll provide the entertainment!” Some of the most recognizable and loved melodies from Broadway will fill the night air. Special vocal guests Blake Oden and Leah Huber (recently seen and heard in ULM’s Spring production of The Phantom of the Opera) will be joining the orchestra to provide their youthful and exuberant interpretations of selected songs. Come join us as we celebrate “The Music of the Night!”

Tables on the arena floor can be reserved for $50, but each person at the table must have their own ticket.

“The Sound of Enchantment”

April 25, 2020 – 7:00pm       Venue TBA

The MSO closes its 49th concert season with the enchanting music of the Arabian Nights. Featuring Rimsky-Korsakov’s Scherezade, Symphonic Suite, Op. 35, the evening will beguile and enthrall you. Featuring a solo performance from the MSO’s Concertmaster, Elizabeth O’Bannon, the audience experiences fanfares, exotic harmonies, and the melodic, hypnotic passages from the violin. As a special feature to this evening, the winner of the 2020 Marjorie Stricklin Emerging Artist Competition will be a guest performer.

Season subscribers will be invited to a special pre-concert reception.
